In a concession to Democrats, Lott agreed to give Daschle veto power over the calling of any further prosecution witnesses.

''I think if it turns out that the depositions show something really startling and there is really new evidence of significance that's relevant and that some additional evidence or witnesses will be called for, I think that he or I would be very hard pressed to deny that option,'' Lott said.

Anybody willing to bet when Daschle's "veto power" would be snatched away by a Republican-sponsored motion?
