<<<< Women smell perfume when buying.
You know, I asked around at work today... mind you, people who dont know a thing about PRFM, dont know much about the investing, but are real people....
And I asked 2 questions... to 4 women, and 2 men coworkers.
1) Do you buy a lot of different perfumes (or for the men, does your wife or do you buy for wife a lot of perfumes)?
2) If you could go online and get the same perfume for 20-40% off retail and have to wait 2 weeks maximum for it... would you do it?
To question 1... all said they (or their wife) buy the same brand, the brand they have been using forever....
To question 2, all said emphatic yes.
Granted the demographic I asked was 35-50 years old... and they may be more set in their ways, then my age group (say 18-30 years old), but instead of posting "chicken in the sky falling messages", try posting some real life evidence or studies. I believe I read on the thread earlier today, an actual study that stated 70% of people don't need to smell before they buy.
PRFM's services is not for everyone. Some people want to try different kinds of products and those poor souls will have to drive to a real store.
AMZN's servies is not for everyone. Some people like to flip through a book and see what is looks like, how many pictures, how the text outlay is, what the chapters are about.
But for both services (and I am not saying PRFM is the next AMZN... just giving you a comparison)... for both services, there are parallels. If I know beforehand there is a fiction book I'd want or I read a positive recommendation on a non-fiction book, than I buy the cheap way with AMZN. If I know and like a perfume, I buy perfume from PRFM. If I want to try and look through (or smell through) some choices I drive to Borders (for books) or department store (for perfumes).
Some objects I don't believe lend themselves to internet selling.. such as shoes, or most clothing in general. I know, as a guy, I like to try things on.. and from females who I hang out with, they talk about how a size 6 dress on one side of the rack can fit differently than a size 6 on the other size of the rack (that is probably one reason they leave for the mall for 5 hrs at a time)... so I doubt clothing is the best thing to sell on the internet. Soil probably wouldn't sell well on the net, not worth the shipping cost. But what about a general commodity that doesn't differ in the production process (a book, music, perfume, DVDs, videos) hmmm... that sounds like a decent idea.
Please give me a rational arguement against these points and I'll try to respect your views... don't give me "SCAM! SCAM!! DIE DIE STOCK!"
