In addition one must be aware that those chips don't mean squat until they are installed in a WORKING modem. Remember when ROK rushed thier 14.4 modems (standard) modems to market??? Cisco put out a press release stating the "workarounds" for "features" of the new modems and comm cards when dealing with hardware handshaking. Sucked. The rockwell customers have been bitten once. I think thier will be much R+D+Testing to verify 56K chips before you see them in comm servers. Now the cheap modem makers, such as zoom, will put them on the street as soon as they blow off the foam-peanuts from the chips. But even they will require time to start shipping in quantity. Tooling costs money. I don't expect to see modem lines ready to go until some time after chips are available. Unlike USRX which has been making modems now for 5+ months...all that is needed is a ROM swap or software upgrade (resident or Flash, depending on model).
