This will give you an idea of what the public thinks about being IDed.
In Florida (and some other states) the department of motor vehicles has sold the pictures on your drivers license to a private company, Image Data LLC, in New Hamshire for a penny a piece. 14million for $140k, for the purpose of combating credit card fraud by having a picture of the card user pop up when you do a transaction.. Very similar to Intels ID scheme. Anyway, to make a long story short, the DMV was so swamped with angry calls that it immediately stopped the transfer of the pictures.

Basically people are sick off it. Evidence you screening your calls for sales pitches. Where do you think they get your number?
The CPU ID is just another conduit for someone to sell your identification. Or so the public views it.
