It all depends onthe liquidity of a stock if a stock is easily bought and sold the spread will be tighter if a stock is not available easily they will likely have huge spreads inorder to fill buy orders and then try to locate shares to cover the naked sale at some lower price and since the stock is so thin..they sometimes have to wait longtimes ..so inorder to minimize risk they keep the spread large to detract more buyers until they have been covered..;Like USAT
