SHGLaw, thanks for your reply. I think not only the auction similarity but the name similarity e[cap]Bay and u[cap]Bid links these stocks. (Perhaps that was not unintentional, I don't know). Even CNBC contributes to this confusion. When the uBid CEO was on recently he was asked whether uBid was concerned about the fraud investigation of eBay, obviously confusing their business models.

You seem to be arguing that uBid's market value is not dependent on the eBay link. I guess we may get a better sense of that if uBid doesn't decline in step with eBay next week when "unlocked" insider selling is likely to begin in earnest(the split announcement having served its purpose).
