Mad2,
I did read your post and presented specific issues that I took exception to. You have again made an incorrect statement.
"Gel Tech isn't a JV, rather it is owned by Steven Davidison and is a Pharmaceutical Products wholesaler or a distributer of materials."
The following statement came straight from the press release on January 27. biz.yahoo.com
"ZICAM is developed by and manufactured for Gel Tech, Inc. (a joint venture by BIODELIVERY Technologies, Inc., a privately-held biotechnology company, and GumTech International, Inc., a publicly-held company located in Phoenix, Ariz.). Gel Tech's mission is to develop and provide innovative products that change consumers' expectations for the over-the-counter products they need and use."'
Maybe I'm reading this wrong, but it says that Gel Tech is a joint venture, owned by Biodelivery Technologies and GumTech International. Do you read the statement differently? If so, please tell me what you think it means.
Further, it is my understanding that Dr. Charles B. Hensley and Dr. R. Steven Davidson are principles from Biodelivery and together founded Gel Tech with GUMM. Please correct me if this is wrong as well.
What is the significance of Biodelivery not being in the Lexis Nexis data base? Is this something that I should legitimately be worried about?
With regards to GUMM's cash position, while they aren't cash rich, they obviously had sufficient resources to get Zicam on the shelves at Albertson's, Rite Aid, and Eckherd. They are getting a lot of free promotion vis news stories and all the "hype" surrounding the product release.
Last, there isn't an ounce of hype in this or my other posts. I simply presented an opinion and backed it up with reason. That isn't hype. While hype does exist over GUMM, hype alone is not a reason to scoff at a stock anyway. There is plenty of hype to go around in the Internet stocks. I sure hope you didn't short those on the sole basis of their being hyped. My goal is to present what I understand from the press releases and obtain feedback as to whether I'm reading them wrong. I am making a big effort NOT to get taken in by the hype surrounding GUMM. If anybody thinks I have incorrectly interpreted this situation, please respond.
Thanks, Dan |
