Some people here hate each other with a murderous passion, because they view this very ideological debate as a war. And in a war, you cannot kill your enemies if you do not hate them. My approach, and I'm sure yours also, is that if one wants to be credible, he or she has to earn the respect of others through civility, intellectual honesty, tolerance and compassion. And so I try to follow these rules, although I often fail. But I keep trying, because I know I will get nowhere with the people I am talking to if I do not respect them.
