HellQat and Marc, The following is an excerpt from last Wednesday's press release from Madera. Your question is a good one, but it illustrates the frustration felt by Madera's management when they try to react to investor speculation on these internet threads...... from Wed. Jan 27, 1999.....
"Ramiro Fernandez-Moris, CEO of WOOD, stated that the sale of all DORMANT land not used for timber harvesting by the company to organizations INTERESTED PRIMARILY IN ITS PRESERVATION will allow the company to better achieve its industrial growth projects while at the same time continuing to preserve large tracts of virgin timberland properties, positively accomplishing the goals of our subsidiary in its environmental protection efforts."
Please take no personal offense at this statement, Hell, but I am getting frustrated watching the posts about WOOD by people on the internet. Without trying to evaluate people's motives, I see many who first, denigrate WOOD management for "vague", unclear releases, then, when one like the one above is released in what I consider to be straightforward language, it STILL GETS MISSTATED OR QUESTIONED. I'll say it again..... WHAT A GREAT DEVELOPMENT, 1) NON CRITICAL LAND AVAIABLE TO BE SOLD TO GENERATE CASH FOR THE BUSINESS PLAN, 2) WOOD ONLY WILL SELL TO ENTITIES THAT SHARE THEIR ENVIRONMENTAL CONCERNS, 3) THERE ARE BUYERS APPARENTLY INTERESTED UNDER THESE RESTRICTIONS. What's to quarrel with, here. It's why I'm long and looking for $2.00 in '99. |
