Daytrader success statistics must be heavily influenced by the market trends; trends may even be the determining factor. I often listen in to the live daytrader chat rooms (#daytraders, for example, or even #the_final_frontier)where some people post their trades as they occur. Nearly all are longs, as far as I can tell. Of course they should be making money as on most days prices end higher than they began. When/if the market reverses direction, the truth regarding the viability of daytrading will become apparent. This leads to investment thoughts on the EGRP's and AMTD's of the world.
