Conforming to US accounting practices and regulations are one of the pre-requisites to being listed on any US stock exchange. This blessing was made early last year paving the way to last Augusts listing on the NYSE. SAP selected the NYSE due to higher notoriety and less manipulation that goes on in the NASDAQ.
