Dan,

I haven't shorted the stock yet because I haven't been able to borrow it. And I may wait a while to see if you folks can hype it more. But given the hundreds of products that never succeed despite multiple positive clinical trial results published in peer-reviewed journals, it's pretty unlikely GUMM has stumbled onto the holy grail. So yes, I would be playing the odds, but the odds look excellent.

If I wanted to speculate on a cure for the common cold, I would buy Quigley. The company has a brand, a product, substantial sales, incredible profit margins, lots of cash. GUMM has nada.

For people doing back of the envelope math on GUMM's potential sales and profits, Quigley makes for the most logical comparison. It ought to provide investors with some perspective on these pie-in-the-sky fantasies.
