Ralph - some thoughts on PRFM's online venture and it's possible success (or failure). I'll start by saying I live just 10 miles from one the "shopping meca's" of the world - Paramus, NJ. Although I do not know much about the perfume business, I can only hope that we hear PRFM ads much like the ones we hear from "Beyond.com". People buy products from a particular retailer or manufacturer for the "benefits" it gives them! perfume is perfume and can be bought at any store for varying prices. The BENEFIT of shopping at PRFM online is the reason I don't go anywhere near Paramus most days of the week. TRAFFIC, CONGESTION, AROGANT SHOPPERS (I get enough of THAT here :-]), LINES, AGGRESSIVE SALES PEOPLE, LIMITED SHOPPING HOURS, SHOULD I CONTINUE???? From the small sample of women who have posted here, it seems they buy the same perfume all the time - NO NEED TO SMELL OR TOUCH AT A STORE - so why go to a mall when the BENEFIT of shopping online is much more appealing! There are many near term and long term variables missing from the PRFM internet picture right now - it's unfortunate that the traders who have joined the thread recently have manipulated most of us into a heated, emotional frenzy vs. a rational discussion of why this is (OR ISN'T) a good investment (long or short). Then again, trading has everything to do with emotion and little to do with fact!!! Good luck to all investors and traders!! dave!
