Interesting article. Kind of makes we wonder what a company like etrade is experiencing in margin losses that it extends to its customers. This almost reminds me of farming. Banks will lend you enough money to let you hang yourself and then take the farm. What does etrade have to take if all the holdings are worth less than there original purchase price. Having that margin allowance is like putting a drink in front of an AA member.
