You could be right. My 1999 Stock Trader's Alminac says that during the past 10 years, the market was down in only two of those years (1989 [-3.6%] and 1994[-3.7%]) during the month of February.

Up February years include 1990 (+1.4%), 1991 (+5.3%), 1992 (+1.4%), 1993 (+1.8%), 1995 (+4.4%), 1996 (+1.7%), 1997 (+.9%), and 1998 (+8.1%).

Only time will tell. And the past is not necessarily the future.
