All,

This was passed along to me:

There is talk of a Team Alberta delegation to China & Asia planned for spring. It was mentioned in the Herald the other day. On another note, Dynetek, a private company here in Calgary who makes ng tanks just finalized its largest contract ever in Mexico City to supply 1000 garbage trucks there. That's good news for AFS. It demonstrates Mexico's commitment to ng and demonstrates that they are forging ahead.

ALBERTA SIGNS FIVE-YEAR DEAL
WITH CHINA

The Alberta government signed a five-year agreement with the China
National Petroleum Corp. on Friday that will expand operations at its
petroleum training centre in Beijing.

The agreement calls for expanded training in management and environmental technology at the centre, which generates about $30
million in business for Alberta firms annually. "We have a lot of expertise in the oil and gas industry that China's oil and gas industry doesn't have and as a result it's been very good for both sides," Alberta Economic spokeswomen Barb Marcinkoski said.
Alberta's annual budgeted commitment is about $400,000.00.

The centre was built in 1989 through a formal agreement between
Alberta and CNPC. Its mandate is to promote trade and the transfer of
technology between Alberta and China.

Since 1994, more than 100 training courses, seminars and exchanges have been organized by the centre. Under the new agreement, the name of the China-Alberta Petroleum Centre will be changed to the CNPC-Alberta Petroleum Centre. The change reflects the major organizational changes to China's petroleum sector last summer which have transformed CNPC into a vertically integrated
petroleum corporation.
