That rumor doesn't seem accurate to me. As of Dec. 31, 1998, YHOO had 99, 509,505 outstanding shares of common stock; see:
edgar-online.com

And 450,000,000 authorized; from the supplementary consolidated balance sheets attached as exhibit to Form 8-K/A filed on January 21, 1998; see:
edgar-online.com

So it seems to me that Koogle easily could have done a 3-1 or even a 4-1 with the currently authorized shares.
