Jim,

I was browsing through the Financial Times this morning and came across their analysis of the US economic growth figures. I haven't seen the raw data, but they called attention to the fact that there was an 18% increase in US exports last quarter.

That is particularly bullish, IMO, since that should help to relieve some of the pressures on the trade deficit growth. At least that was my understanding of the significance of that statistic.

As for the "crash/correction" back in July... had it gone down another 1,000 points then investor perception would not have permitted such a quick recovery. I suggest that would have been the beginning of a bear market and we would not be discussing where the next market top was going to be.
