John, re: CPU ID Thank you, John, for your response. I think we have reflected on varying views about the value of privacy. These are fuzzy, I believe, in most people's mind, probably correlated to age and personal experiences. I respect your views. They are valid and articulately presented. I am more interested in the business aspects here. We will soon see how this PR storm plays out. I am just confused as to why Intel wants to be a lightning rod on this issue. Sure seems to me to offer minuscule return for all the trouble. Thany you also for your continuing participation on this thread. Jeff
