You do make one good point about the internet, though I agree with MB for the most part. Being able to transact business with mom and pop places like the B&B you mentioned. The internet gives these guys a new visibility, IMO. When you send off for info to a tourism place. You get a narrow list -- now not all folks are going to be on the internet, yet. Tourist associations will include some of the bigger options, but the internet provides an ease of contact for the smaller outfit. I think this tends to levelize things, but it doesn't mean that Geocities was worth anywhere near what YHOO is paying based on the possibility of generating profits ... Frankly, I think Greespan was full of BS and knows it (I think he was using reverse psychology to bring about a rapid decline) I don't think any of these firms will be worth a fraction of their capitalization in 2 - 3 years.
