Mr Cosenza, you're at odds with Gorcon, and my girlfriend...
While Perfumania may not be the bastion of new-run perfumes, when I asked my girlfriend if she had ever heard of Perfumania, she said, "of course!", as if I were asking a silly question. When I told her that they were going to begin marketing on-line, she got quite excited (made me think I had found a new form of fore-play...)
I agree with you, that folks who are interested in the latest rage scents will need to continue to pay top dollar at whatever boutique they frequent, but my girlfriends' reaction was that she doesn't have to go out to the store anymore to get the old tried-and-true scents that she likes.
While your assessment of the marketing situation may or may not be correct, the action I have observed during the past few months with regard to a company announcing the intention to go on-line, or the actual commencement of on-line commerce, and the resultant action in the stock price of said company, is good enough to indicate to me that the "buy" side of PRFM is the place to be right now.
I was going to say "the long side", but that invokes thoughts of months, or years, and I think that for those of us in the stoch right now, long term to us is days, or a week, now that D-Day is near at hand.
Good hunting... |
