"The delSecur system can be made so secure that it can actually tell if a finger is alive or dead - so it protects against the prospect of someone cutting off someone's finger to use to defeat the device. I don't know if this capability will be used in every system or just automatic teller or other terminal type systems where a higher level security is important."

That is old technology.
