Good speculation Jasman. Lets say that Perfumania plans to announce some big relationships in their press release on Monday. Then possibly they thought that Friday would be the best time to release the CFO resignation announcement. That way it will be forgotten by the end of Monday when Perfumania spikes upward. This is a better plan than to announce the resignation after the spike has occurred.
