Just set a hot key for a 1 share buy on ARCA. Put the name of the stock you want to check availability on in the MM window, and hit the hot key. If it is available, your order will go live for about 1 second in your OE window. Then you'll get a "round lot cancellation. You can do the same thing to check short availability.
