You make good points about the way ISLD executes. I actually was going to bring that up--but forgot. I've never tried executing ISLD across the spread like you describe. I assume you mean a setup something like this:

Nite 10 1/4 Mash 10 3/8
ISLD 10 1/8 INCA 10 3/8

You want to get out and you're afraid Nite will disappear before you can get executed there, so you send an ISLD sell at 10 1/8 and get an instant execution--right?

Regarding getting filled at the inside being futile, I disagree. If a stock is advancing in a stair-step fashion you are much safer getting a passive fill at the bid. Also, if you sense a reversal, it makes sense to save a tick or two by getting the passive fill.
