70 Percent of ISP Subscribers Worldwide Will be Able to Access the Web With x2(tm) Technology: U.S. Robotics Supports Three Times More Subscribers Than Any Other Remote Access Vendor

U.S. Robotics (NASDAQ: USRX) today announced that 70 percent of subscribers worldwide will have access to the Web through ISPs (Internet Service Providers) that support U.S. Robotics' new x2 technology. In just one month, the list of ISPs supporting x2 has more than doubled. U.S. Robotics continues daily to sign up new ISPs who will use x2 to provide Internet access with 56 Kbps technology for their subscribers worldwide.

U.S. Robotics' ISP customers supporting x2 now represent a collective total of more than 18 million subscribers - 70 percent of the estimated 25 million individuals worldwide who access the Web. Through these ISPs, U.S. Robotics serves three times more subscribers than any other remote access vendor.

"Our coverage of the market with x2 will be tremendous," said John McCartney, president and chief operating officer of U.S. Robotics.
