Hi Rick sorry I did not get back to you sooner you asked this question on Friday..

David, what does it mean when you say an MM is "at the bid" or "at the ask"? Does
that mean if I wish to buy stock at the bid, there are three MM's willing to sell me stock
at that price?

When I say Market maker is at the Bid that means those particular Market makers want to buy shares to sell potentially at higher prices. So when a shareholder sells there shares that MM looks to buy them from you. On Level 2 when you see alot of Market Makers at the bid that usually means the stock should head up not always the case 100% of the time but lets say most of the time.. When Market Makers are at the ask that means they are selling there shares so if you buy at the ask you are buying shares they are willing to sell to the public.. Again if you see more Market Makers at the ask Then the Bid that most of the time means the stock is gonna head lower but again not always the case 100% of the time.. This is a general overview of how market makers work and what traders look for when they have use of Level 2 .

But I have seen on other threads people post they(market makers) just sold me shares at the bid. I tried that myself a few times and never got lucky enough :( Sometimes you can put in a buy order in between the Bid and ask and get your ordered filled as well .

Well Rick I hope this answers your questions

David

As of Fridays close 1 market maker was at .155 Bid and 1 market maker was at the .165
