Someone I spoke to recently, told me that with the shuffle of executive and management level staff for the new AltaVista Company, there will also be a new "Appliance Division" started under the auspices of Compaq.

So this gels with the last comment in your post What will Compaq do for an encore after the AltaVista spin-off? We hear $200 to $300 Internet appliances
