Anyone know where i can get information on understading what these listed definitions mean in english. I'm Trying to learn but getting started is kickin my butt. Any books? Anything?

Price-Earnings Ratio (P/E)


This ratio is calculated by dividing the current Price by the sum of the Primary Earnings Per Share from continuing operations BEFORE Extraordinary Items and Accounting Changes over the last four quarters. (Trailing Twelve Months, $ per share)


Price-Sales Ratio (P/S)

This is the current Price divided by the Sales Per Share for the trailing twelve months. If there is a preliminary earnings announcement for a quarter that has recently ended, the revenue (sales) values from this announcement will be used in calculating the trailing twelve month revenue per share. (Trailing Twelve Months)

Debt-Equity Ratio (D/E)

This ratio is Total Debt for the most recent fiscal quarter divided by Total Shareholder Equity for the same period. (Most Recent Quarter)

Earnings Growth

Earnings Growth Rate (EPS Growth, 3 Years (%)) is the compound annual growth rate of Earnings Per Share Excluding Extraordinary Items and Discontinued Operations over the last 3 years.

Dividend Yield

This value is the current percentage dividend yield based on the present cash dividend rate. It is calculated as the Indicated Annual Dividend divided by the current Price, multiplied by 100.

Beta

Beta is a measure of a company's common stock price volatility relative to the market. The Market Guide Beta is the slope of the 60 month regression line of the percentage adjusted for regression tendencies reported by Blume.

Book Value

Also referred to as Common Shareholder's Equity, this is the Total Shareholder's Equity as of the most recent quarterly Balance Sheet minus Preferred Stock and Redeemable Preferred Stock. ($ Millions, Most Recent Quarter)

Return on Equity (ROE)

This value is the Income Available to Common Stockholders for the trailing twelve months divided by the Common Equity and is expressed as a percentage. Average Common Equity is calculated by adding the Common Equity for the 5 most recent quarters and dividing Average by 5.

Earnings Per Share (EPS)

This ratio is calculated by dividing the current Price by the sum of the Primary Earnings Per Share from continuing operations BEFORE Extraordinary Items and Accounting Changes over the last four quarters. (Trailing Twelve Months)
