LT.
Can't disagree with your post. Once burnt twice shy is something we've all felt. If I accepted the premise that it will stay at $12 a barrel then I wouldn't be interested and would buy into more transportation and other sectors benefiting from this.

The fact is the basic demand for the stuff hasn't wavered, only Opec's resolve and ability to police themselves has. We dumped a healthy amount of our reserves at $20 a barrel some time back and the critics howled. It's looking pretty smart now but it didn't help the world wide price when we did it. Buying at these bargain prices is on the mind of the entire first world who need a healthy reserve. I suspect once it starts big time it will have a cascading effect. Also, the Asian rebound, which I think is nascent but alive, should increase demand.

Any world crisis could act as a catalyst to trigger the inevitable supply to demand dynamics which will bring about a sharp restatement of basic economics to oil prices. When, I don't know but I have noticed that some heavy hitters a lot smarter than I are already starting the hedging process. All INMHO of course and I wish us all good luck but not at the price of those damn gas lines again. Bill
