If you don't mind I'll answer this too. Mysticism and irrationality aren't evil- but they can be dangerous when carried to an extreme. Even rationality can be dangerous- one can make a rational argument for the disposal of people who appear useless- that is a dangerous idea. One can make a rational argument for the exploitation of the environment to the point of exhaustion (Terrence has done this) but of course rational people can disagree- proving that rational is just as slimey and slippery as religion. I do think that rationalism is less emotional- which probably lessens the violence of conflicts between rational people holding opposing beliefs.
