The only stupid question in this world.....is the "One" you don't ask.

With cable modem...you need no phone....

Yes...you will be able to use your cable (assuming it does not get wiped out...laugh)

And YES you will be able to use AOL (FASTER) since no dialing...no ringing phone...then no connection...just click on aol icon and then it whips there...pops in your password...and you are on!
PLUS...get this...you SAVE on your AOL bill...by going through your ISP (Internet Service Provider)...vs going through the phones...

and more than likely...save us shareholders some COG (Cost of Goods/service)...

anytime....ask away....enjoy helping...and giving back a little...heaven knows...AOL has made a significant difference in MY life..... (both personally and financially....met my honey there!!)

smiles.....mary

Details from AOL:
The Bring Your Own Access (BYOA) Plan is a flat $9.95 per month for unlimited use of America Online. The BYOA plan is not affected by the recent unlimited plan price increase. To qualify for this rate, you must connect through an Internet Service Provider (ISP) or through a Local Area Network (LAN).

If you select this pricing plan and then connect to America Online using one of our AOLnet or SprintNet access numbers, you will incur an additional surcharge of $2.50 per hour which will be added to your AOL bill.

To switch to this plan, click Change Billing Method or Price Plan in the Accounts & Billing area at Keyword: Billing.
