The Third Force-ISE (Inter Connected Stock Exchange)

Anil:
Thanks for the reply,you know you may have a point about the plantation owners and the VHP in Kerala.With the exception of a few big time corporate plantation owners like TATA Tea,Harrison Malayalam, MRF and the Manorama guys most plantations are owned by Christians.Let us hope this things doesn't get real ugly for the sake of our state,it is not like Keralites to go for this kind of nonsense.

Now here is an interesting story about ISE,I think this is an exciting move for the stock market and the investors.
==============================

The third force

Regional stock exchanges come into the mainstream from January 27. Aravamuthan Sasikant & Rakesh P Sharma try to find out what this means for investors.

The idea of an inter-connected stock was mooted way back in 1996 and now it has reached a stage where the Inter-connected Stock Exchange (ISE) is becoming a reality. It will go live across the country on January 27, 1999. In the initial phase 11 regional stock exchanges are expected to go live and the remaining exchanges will follow. The immediate impact of this is the availability of the regional blue-chips to the national investing fraternity. Over the long term the impact could be phenomenal if the exchange succeeds. This will increase the breadth and the depth of the Indian financial markets, which even now is restricted to a few places in the country................
