Is there anyone on this thread who still rates AMZN a buy and why??

I find this company overvalued, but I'll play the devil advocate's role.

Amazon is a buy because with last quarter figures it has proven that indeed there is quite a bit of value in a brand. They went from no presence to number one in music sales in just a few months.

People trust the Amazon name, and like shopping there. Amazon can keep on adding products to the mix they sell and people trust them. Plus they are now so large that most other web sites cannot compete on the basis of price. Amazon gets better prices from wholesalers and from shipping companies (FedEx, UPS). The same product at the same price in Amazon and in buy.com results in higher earnings (or less losses, if you are a bear :) for Amazon.

A $17.6 billion market cap for a company that can sell CDs, books, videos, software and any other thing that can be sold mail order is not so outrageous.
