I understand that, but surely you don't think that the K7 will be selling for under $200 at its introduction? Obviously AMD will need to do some shrinks to get the die size down further before selling it for under $100. In the meantime I'm sure that the 350-400's will fall to the under $100 range.

For wafer consumption the question is how quickly the K7 becomes the primary chip sold by AMD. My assumption is that the main demand will continue to be for the upper end K6s even after introduction of the K7. If AMD elects to price the K7 in the low $100 range, then I would expect a dramatic shift in consumption to the K7. But I expect that they will try to make money, and to do that they will need high prices at first from the K7.
