Alert:

Just ran across this. Since I think all of us here are out to improve our net worth, I feel I should share this with you also.

Since we give you stocks we think you should buy here are some that the "stock detective says avoid. Hope I am not stepping on anyone's toes or busting any bubbles.

Here they are:

Stinky Stock Roundup

Where are they now? Jan 4, 1999

The following table lists some of the companies which have been featured as "Stinky Stocks" on Stock Detective, and provides a quick update of these companies' latest shenanigans. Stock prices are as of the market close on Jan 4, 1999.

Company Symbol Date Featured Price Current Price Change

PinkMonkey.com PMKY 12/03/98 $13.50 $3.19 -76%
It didn't take investors long to get this monkey off their backs. After peaking in early December at $17, PinkMonkey.com has been on a steady decline, although we don't think it's bottomed out yet. Perhaps the Internet market for literary cheat sheets wasn't as deep as they claimed.

Great White Marine Recreation Inc. JAWS 10/29/98 $2.22 $2.13 -4%
Investors are still waiting for the long-promised SEC filings from this company. The target date apparently is now into 1999, and visitors to the message boards are getting a little restless. The hold up is attributed to Great White's change from an accountant from Mexico - who wasn't certified to practice in Texas or make SEC filings.

DNA Medical Technologies DNAT 08/31/98 $1.03 $0.23 -78%
Has disappeared from the radar, with nary a press release or a peep about a SEC filing or the status of the mysterious $1.5 billion offer made in July by a Japanese firm. There was one 144 registration, signaling an insider is planning to sell almost a million shares of stock. The website for Histotec, a majority DNAT shareholder and the company that has licensed DNAT with "exclusive worldwide storage rights to human DNA specimens," has shut down.

Rhombic Corp. NUKE 06/22/98 $0.94 $0.13 -86%
Nothing new from the world of nuclear physics since November's press release about a Russian scientist's presentation of his research on Rhombic technology at a scientific forum. Still no word on what the scientist said.

Platforms International PLFM 05/20/98 $0.92 $0.53 -42%
Press releases continue to puff up reported projects from South America to Sweden to the former USSR, but nothing concrete. That hasn't stopped the company from insisting that it is well on its way to "rapidly assume a leadership role in the race to commercialize Space with one of the most advanced and cost-effective Satellite Launch and Recovery programs in the world." Maybe if they weren't so busy cooking up global connections, they'd find time to file the 10K they said would be in the SEC's hands by the end of May.

ProNet Link PNLK 05/15/98 $6.37 $0.95 -85%
Despite recent buying frenzies involving almost any company even vaguely related to the Internet, ProNet Link's shares continue dropping. Apparently its site, which is supposed to streamline global trade, isn't catching on with its intended audience. Or, if it is, that enthusiasm hasn't been matched on Wall Street.

Eventemp ETMP 05/06/98 $0.00 -100%
Has not resumed trading since being delisted in August.

Zulu-tek ZULU 03/25/98 $0.54 $0.16 -70%
In the name of clarity, Zulu-tek and Enhanced Services apparently are muddying the waters again with respect to the pending merger of the two companies. Enhanced and Zulu-tek plan to merge through a stock swap that would have given Zulu-tek shareholders one share of Enhanced Services for 10 shares of Zulu-tek. Apparently this wasn't going over well with Zulu-tek shareholders, so now Zulu-tek has approved a 1-for-10 reverse stock split so that when the stock swap takes place with Enhanced Services, it will be on a 1-to-1 basis. In our last episode, Enhanced had lost its Nasdaq listing by failing to meet listing guidelines. So far, that listing has not been regained.

Saf-T-Lok LOCK 02/27/98 $3.66 $1.03 -72%
Despite a plug from the Boston Police Department, Saf-T-Lok apparently still falls short of the 10,000 gunlocks per week production goal it said would be met last May. Maybe it's the investor class action lawsuits, or the breach of contract and libel lawsuit brought by its former president that's set investors selling. Or maybe it's the company's failure to live up to its own hype.

B.A.T. International BAAT 02/07/98 $1.63 $0.22 -87%
Down to a record low of only two vapid press releases in December, B.A.T.'s hype machine seems to be in a holiday stupor. But don't be discouraged. The press releases that were issued were typical B.A.T. non-news affairs: one of its cars will be warming up in New Zealand for a race up Pike's Peak, and the company has signed contracts with several sales representatives. Frankly, we're stunned that B.A.T. shares didn't gap up after these compelling revelations.

CopyTele COPY 02/06/98 $2.25 $1.28 -43%
As the company's funding dwindles, there doesn't seem to be a speck of interest in CopyTele shares in sight. Could it be that the company that has lured investors back again and again during the past 20 years is finally headed for a Nasdaq de-listing? Stay tuned.

Keystone Energy KESE 11/25/97 $8.03 $0.27 -97%
Aside from agreements with an energy auction company and a marketing firm, Keystone Energy has done little else toward achieving last year's claim that it would be making $12 million in its first year of operations. Well, that year's gone and the company has yet to report any earnings. Nor are there any SEC filings, as promised oh so long ago.

Redox Technologies RDOX 09/10/97 $3.16 $0.56 -82%
News this month: Redox Technologies announces a strategic alliance with Octobot Cooperative Mutual Technology Fund. Who? "Octobot Cooperative consists of diverse technology, financial and marketing entities which will provide an amalgamated pool of resources available to the entities comprising the Octobot Cooperative." 'Nuff said.

Say Yes Foods SYES 07/29/97 $3.75 $0.17 -95%
Forget about cutting out the middleman, Say Yes Foods is cutting out the end of the line as well. In an attempt to reduce on costs, Say Yes Foods said it will begin marketing its dairy "formulations" straight to dairy processors, rather than trying to put it into stores directly.

Zitel Corp. ZITL 07/10/97 $21.13 $4.25 -80%
After a brief, unexplained rally just before Christmas, Zitel shares leveled off again, but that was before investors had a chance to digest news that Zitel and MatriDigm have terminated their merger agreement.

Galaxy Foods GALX 06/03/97 $0.81 $0.63 -22%
Although it has failed to meet Nasdaq listing requirements for a minimum bid price of $1 since September, Galaxy Foods has been granted an exemption from those guidelines that allows its shares to continue trading on the Nasdaq SmallCap Market. The exemption expires Feb. 12, 1999.
