They may be separate companies..But I pay my @home bill to Cablevision...via their Optimum service.
Mary, When you get your phone bill, it has a total from Bell. But it consists of your local service from Bell, and whatever Long Distance services that you have chosen.
If Cablevison operated the same way, your bill would have cablevisions charge, plus the charge from the Internet Company you had chosen. Right now, you have to pay for Cablevision plus @home plus AOL. If that were freed up, you would be paying for cablevision plus AOL, and you would not have to pay for @home.
Presently, Cablevision forces you to pay for @home, when you don't use them. Imagine if Bell Telephone told you that you had to pay for the Local service, plus AT&T, plus Sprint, if you wanted to use Sprint. That's what cablevision is doing to you.!
