I think you have a false perception of the Chinese people. Things have changed dramatically in China over the past 10 years. The "old" guard is dying off and the students of T-Square are middle aged now with even more capitalistic youngsters to back them up.

If we have any Chinese/Americans here please explain to blankmind that the vast majority of Chinese Americans are NOT hostile to Americans. In fact it is quite the opposite--they are very curious about Americans and would like to see democracy in China more than anyone.

If I told you 10 years ago that the Soviet Union was going to become a Democracy you would have told me that I am crazy.

Is it not good for the DMC to have ties with the communists so that they will allow a gradual change to democracy rather than holding a gun to its people head?

The point I was trying to make is that the Republicans are a bunch of hippoctits. They pretend to be these wholesome Chritians yet the very Congressmen who were calling for slick Willy's head had histories of infidelity, supporting abortions in their personal situations and frequenting prostitutes. At least Willy admitted he sinned and asked for forgiveness. If I were him, I would feel that the ridicule and embarassment alone was more than enough of a punishment for something that should have never been dug up in the first place. Willy's infidelity should be a personal problem that should be dealt with between he, Hillary, perhaps a therapist or a priest etc. Shame on the GOP and the American media for turning the 5 o'clock news into the Jerry Springer show.

Mark my word, come next election the American public will tell the GOP EXACTLY how they feel about this entire fiasco.
