CAS2 maybe, on CAS3 memory (or are you running 66mhz memory

Actually the other way around. I have CAS2 PC100 Mushkin/Samsung memory at CAS3 speed. Should I change it to CAS2?

More likely, though, you need to up the voltage a trifle. Have you tried 2.1v?

No but the problem occurs at 300/66 and 2.0 volts. I usually undo the overclock when installing and experimenting.

1) my daughter's (now dead) pc, an AMD 100mhz 486 clone. Would only boot Win 95 the way you say - step through the boot confirming each entry.

The machine boots normally when turned on. It also boots normally with a shut down and restart. So far the problem is only when I change a video setting and it wants to reboot.
