Review of "Rent"?? Ok..how about "WHOA"!!!! I thought it was pretty good, my daughters thought it was pretty good, my husband really, REALLY didn't like it.
Music was awesome (IMO). People were charging the doors at "half-time", and when it was over, others were practically plowing their way through people to get to the ailses and out, still others were standing and applauding, cheering and whistling. I guess it is whatever "floats your boat".
It centers around a bunch of friends, mostly gay living in an industrial loft and in a tent city in the vacant lot next door. It isn't for the "closed minded" by any means. Aids, gay love, failure, drugs, etc.etc.etc.
If it is in your season series..then by all means go see it. If the above sounds like something you would like, then see it. Oh, the "one redeeming part" of the show, according to my schweetie, was when one of the gals shakes a bare tushie in this air while singing a song. There ya go, the extent of my schweetie's culture!
Again, I say, whatever floats your boat!
I wouldn't see it again, but I am glad I saw it this once.
OK...half time almost over...gotta move on quicker!
