They believe that only short sellers bring in these words to scare away the longs. The sexy word in the Street right now is potential. You can hear investors say that he buys the stock because it provides loads of potential.

You make good points in your post. The reason for this thread is to have these discussions without necessarily being a "doomsayer" or a "cheerleader." In the short term, you are undoubtedly correct. Some of us are interested in investing for the long term, and in the long term, I believe like Chuzzlewit that there must be a better correlation between the discounted cash flows and the price of a stock. Perhaps, as they say, this is a new paradigm, but I am inherently suspicious of "new paradigms."
