"I had Pacbell [my phone company] test the line and they declared it OK."

pacbell said the same to me, as a result of a "remote" test. i asked to speak to someone else, and told that individual to send someone out. they did. the guy who came out was here for over an hour. he found "noise" right away and worked diligently to track it down and eliminate it. he even gave me his pager number to get him direct if i had further probs. :)

point being... you should not accept the decision of the person who said your line was clean as a result of a remote test. tell them to get their ass out to your house.
