Zeev,
A couple items:
1. R&D. Frequently, the most important step is the original idea.
I would be more concerned about a high tech company such as CYMI publicly sharing its long range plans than one that allows its shareholders to fear that it may not be adequately preparing for the future.
Thus, I suspect I'm less concerned about CYMI's apparent lack of follow on products for 2007+ time frame than you appear to be.
2. New Fabs. According to Mitch Tyson, PRIA CEO, there are about 3-5 greenfield fab announcements pending; and another 3-5 major additions to existing fab which will be similar to the size of a new fab.
So during 1999, we can expect 6-10 announcements.
If 1-2 of those are 300mm, I sure wouldn't want to be caught short anything. :-) For those who think they've seen fireworks before, all I can say is, "you ain't seen nothing yet!"
Just some random thoughts on a Sunday night...
Take care, Ian. |
