ORCL has nothing to gain by acquiring either Informix or Sybase. They are no longer even considered to be competitors. SQL Server is the only competitor. Unless Microsoft put some focus to make SQL Server really industrial strength, I do not think Oracle has any reason to acquire any one to beef up its strength in the database market. In my view, ORCL should acquire ITWO. They will be a good company to acquire.
