Remember that I was using a sarcastic voice in saying that Chuzz was missing out the obvious part...And I like his model.

BTW, I am both a long term investor and a momentum player who only invest in fundamentally sound companies. I like this thread.


I was not upset in the least with what you posted, because short-term, what you may have said in jest is probably actually true. Here's a question for you. How do you think the business models of companies like AOL or YHOO will change in response to the increasing number of people on the internet and the additional revenue opportunities this must create? For example, I see AOL becoming less of an ISP and more of a provider of value-added services and facilitator of internet commerce. I see the continued income from the subscriber base fueling any kind of expansion they wish to make while that expansion takes them further than being an ISP could ever do. An analogy would be Microsoft taking the ongoing operating system revenue stream and funding their other endeavors.
