|| No man crucified Christ, he gave his life willingly|||
Your ignorance of Christian theology is pitiable. Orthodox and Catholic Christians hold that Jesus had a dual nature -- god and man -- that he suffered on the cross, died, descended in to hell, was raised again and sitteth at the right hand of God. If he did not suffer as a man his "sacrifice" was a theater trick. If he was not God at all (as I believe) his sacrifice was just as real, as poignant, as useless as any person who has suffered for what he believed was true. I admire Jesus the Man, who died for everyone, useless as it was, but his memory gives an example, a model for us all. That he was not God, not the helpless futile ineffectual god the Christians believe in matters to me not at all -- in fact it makes him more attractive. That he was mad, mad with pain and suffering on the cross which he sought, matters not at all to me but makes me pity him even more. |
