I have periodic contact with INFR folks. They have become good at execution - selling, implementing, developing products, supporting customers, etc.

Now that the blocking and tackling is under control, it's time to work on the fancy stuff: positioning, benefits targeted to the decision-makers (i.e. senior mgmt), etc. INFR marketing stuff is still too techie - the goal should be to be in various publications where the CEO happens to see an article and says to his VP of whatever "hey - let's get this thing! because we will sell more!"

This tpye of mesage also appeals to the analysts and brokers. What a lot of marketing folks don't understand is that ultimately, for a stock to go up, in addition to financial results, a company has to do something that an analyst, who covers 100's of companies, can grasp in a sound bite or two - so he can communicate it to his clients.

simple messages: like "INFR helped AOL generate 100,000 customers this quarter" or "INFR helped London Power sell more electricity" or whatever.

Nobby: what do you think?
