Michael,

I think Shege hasn't bathed in a while and he's feeling a mite testy (although he seems to know what he's talking about).

About AURM v. SEBL ...

After an industry scan of SFA and customer service software, the bottom line is that SEBL is more of the Range Rover and AURM is more the Rag-top Jeep. Both viable products but different feels and personalities.

Seibel (except for their Metro-NY sales force) seems to be a very polished organization and their product and its price reflect that personality (despite some admittedly busy screens). Their software is very flexible, almost too flexible sometimes requiring LOTS of twisting and tailoring to fit into an organzation. But it has a great functional scope and is built on some solid principles. My one hang up about Seibel software is that the product is very client-heavy. I believe it would need to be severely rearchitected should NCs come around.

I'm not as familiar with AURM because it's limited scope (sales-wise) precluded it from further consideration. Our study was done in September so something at AURM may have changed since.

FYI ... I missed out on the September run up on SEBL so I bought SCOP instead which took off a little late after the summer bashing and it's still going. I'm getting in on SEBL now because I think its a good product with the snob appeal for the Fortune 500 and some major sales (SEBL landed Schwab and I think it will land others in the financial arena as well). I think this latest bashing presents a good opportunity ti get in in somewhat of a trough.
