The game is hardly over. PRFM was sucker punched by a very organized group of short-sellers, that move with military-like precision. I am really interested to know the symbols of the three MMs reported to have begun making a market shortly before last Friday afternoon's blitz. Isn't it fascinating how they knew right when to move in and take short positions?
There is no question that this organized group has substantial resources and an extremely effective routine. They have had plenty of practice on other unsuspecting companies. A TEAM of Round-the-clock naysayers on every major investment board...to assure their grip over the weekend.
I must say, it was a sight to behold. Reminded me of watching a finely executed bank robbery. Everybody knew their roles and moved in and out with precise timing.
What I have yet to figure out. . .are these investors? . . are they traders? Did they care in the least that the company was for real, the news was for real, or that you can walk into nearly any shopping mall on the East Coast and buy products from one of their retail stores?
Did they care in the least that the website was not only launched on time, but was done well? The things they said would happen, did not.
The ONLY thing that happened is that the stock was hit by pirates and is currently being held hostage. But they will never let the hostages go. The reason they came was not to "save" anyone from making big mistakes...or to serve a noble purpose of any sort.
They wish to kill the hostages. On the day of the Perfumania.com website launch designed and projected to make the company profitable once again, they want to take the stock to 2. That is what they have said their intent was. And their well executed performance has surely shown that they are doing what they said they would do.
They claimed their reason for attacking PRFM was that it was not profitable last year. But I say their reason for attacking PRFM was simply because they could. When our buying dried up, they knew that we were vulnerable...and if they got a tight enough grip, they could not be stopped.
What will happen now? I guess that depends on how greedy they feel today. The company had no clue as to why their stock was attacked so brutely on what has historically been an exciting event day.
Think about it. How many major e-commerce web launches have you ever been able to buy on the first day of launch? There just are not many out there. For this reason, daytraders are looking for a reason to buy. Traders are watching PRFM with cautious anticipation.
There are lots of things going on behind the scenes that I cannot disclose at this time. But at this point, pirates are holding us hostage.
BAMM rose started at 2.75 and is still selling at 11 dollars..and often runs well into the teens. SHRP was a 2.50 stock with retail stores that is still selling at 15. Likewise, RAYS is holding up 300 pct. Had any one of you known that Books-a-million was the 3rd largest bookseller in America prior to their website launch?
Now it is a household word, and I never see their advertisements or links or anything. I see AMZN and Barnes and Noble everywhere. Perfumania is the LEADER in it's sector and the largest fragrance retailer in America. These pirates get bored because the excitement has died down and they need new blood...they will be gone.
So the question remains, what do YOU value Perfumania to be? And what are you willing to pay for it?
