<<Sorry, but that's not the correct conclusion. The file *is* the site. If you were looking for, say, helloworld.com, and got the 404 error you described in your post, that means that no file named foo.html was found in the domain helloworld.com.>>

I see your point, however, my machine did not give me the "host bills.yahoo.com" does not have an address error. It found the host, and connected to it. Therefore the site has an IP address (and the server or servers exist). Then, I didn't get "connection refused," therefore, the site had a web server listening on the standard http port for that address. The only error I did get was that the page itself was not found. Of course, that is the site, but from the error I got you can conclude that: the yahoo.com domain has a host called bills.yahoo.com (or more likely, a group of machines, or at least a virtual server), that address has a host with a web server running on it, but no "site" in service at the moment.
